The student onboarding process marks a crucial initial interaction with our new system. To ensure a streamlined and effective onboarding experience, we propose the implementation of a Know Your Student (KYS) procedure.

KYS, similar to the Know Your Customer (KYC) or Know Your Business (KYB) processes used for verifying individuals or entities, entails requesting students to provide a concise set of documents along with a personal statement. This documentation serves to define their identity, purpose, and aspirations.

This step holds immense value for students as it prompts them to introspect, questioning who they are, what they aspire to become, and how they plan to achieve their goals. By aligning their thought process with the university's ethos of constantly questioning the "Why and How" at each step of their journey, we foster a culture of self-reflection and purpose-driven growth.

In addition, students are required to submit supporting documents that enable the generation of a unique document in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT). This NFT becomes an exclusive possession of the student, safeguarding against any fraudulent attempts to acquire certificates or degrees on behalf of others.

The implementation of the KYS process ensures a comprehensive understanding of our students while fostering a sense of personal accountability and integrity. It establishes a foundation of trust, authenticates their academic achievements, and underscores the commitment to maintaining the highest standards of credibility and individuality within our university.
